Services

Grant Dale Consulting (GDC) offers a range of services to build leadership skills, develop teams, and enhance organisational performance.

Executive Coaching

Executive Coaching is a proven, highly effective method of assisting individuals to recognise, develop and realise their leadership potential, and for organisations to nurture the development of engaged, motivated and dynamic leaders steeped in a creative, inclusive, productive and rewarding organisational culture. The coaching process endows participants with greater self-awareness, increased self-esteem, and improved understanding of what is required to succeed at any level. Coaching provides tools to aid learning and improvement, and processes to follow for consistent, quantifiable achievement.
GDC’s collaborative approach is customised to your unique requirements within a personal or organisational framework. Our optional diagnostic processes will help identify both your current strengths and the opportunities for development within your leadership style. The diagnostic process will also provide a baseline against which your progress can be accurately measured. Following a range of techniques to assess, practice and review, participants will exit the coaching process with greater confidence in their own ability as leaders, increased self-awareness and a better understanding of how to recognise and manage the differing strengths, talents and contributions of highly varied team members when building a cohesive, effective team.

Leadership Development
(including 360-feedback)

Leaders, from those overseeing the day-to-day tasks of a small team, to executives mapping out the future strategy of a global organisation, are responsible for the values, ethos, philosophy and direction of their particular group. A lucky few have innate leadership skills, evident from an early age. A far greater number have, possibly unrecognised, leadership potential ripe for development. Leadership skills can be effectively taught. You can learn to be a leader, to help shape the way your group/team/section/unit think and behave, to optimise your own contribution to group goals and to encourage the further development and improve the performance of those alongside you.

GDC’s Leadership Development tools and techniques are designed to bring out the best in anyone going through the process, helping them become more effective leaders of teams of every size and structure. Using a range of practical, relevant and reputable tools and techniques, we’ll help you understand your strengths, recognise your behaviour patterns, identify areas with potential for improvement and provide a solid platform from which to effect personal and organisational change.

Team/Group Coaching and Development
(including diagnostics)

GDC’s Team Coaching optimises the performance of discrete multi-person units on the premise of “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts” by promoting recognition and utilisation of the collective knowledge and experience held by every individual member to enhance the functioning of a team. Teams are encouraged to objectively analyse their structure, team dynamics, individual skills and attitudes contributing positively to their output and any conflicts, personality clashes or other factors having a negative influence on their functionality.

The goal of Team Coaching is to analyse as a unit, understand as a unit and ultimately to operate as a more cohesive unit. This is achieved by identifying and developing the constructive and inclusive behaviours using problem-solving exercises and feedback aimed at promoting positive change and enhanced interpersonal skills. Strategies and skillsets identified for improvement will be implemented and monitored over time and their success reviewed and measured.

Organisational Culture and Performance
(including diagnostics)

An organisation’s culture directly impacts upon its performance. Leading organisations are distinguished by norms and expectations that encourage performance-oriented behaviour rather than individual security and mediocrity. Organisational Culture and Performance Coaching helps organisations create and maintain a demonstrably high achievement culture, visible to employees and clients alike.

Constructive organisational culture and performance expectations are something to which every member can aspire and hold themselves accountable. Coaching helps leaders define an organisation’s culture, quantify expectations, measure effectiveness and identify potential barriers to change. It promotes effective and timely engagement with members and develops strategies to maintain member commitment.

GDC’s Organisational Culture and Performance tools help leaders to:

  • measure organisational culture and effectiveness
  • recognise deficiencies and other factors suggesting change is required
  • identify issues likely to inhibit change, interfere with members’ engagement, or impede organisational success
  • devise strategies for developing and promoting a high performance culture
  • monitor change and improvement over time
  • report on effectiveness of cultural change initiatives

Design Thinking / Innovation Experiential Workshops

ExperienceInnovation™

In today’s economy, innovation is as essential as it is difficult. Corporate cultures capable of “inventing the future” are rare, but the emerging discipline of design thinking – honed by the celebrated innovation consultancy IDEO – provides people with the tools and techniques to think differently, see new opportunities, and create innovative solutions with impact.ExperienceInnovation™, is an expert-guided innovation simulation that reveals the fundamentals of IDEO’s human-centred design approach.  ExperienceInnovation™ challenges participants to flex their creativity to solve a realistic and complex design challenge. In the process, teams will engage with the terms, techniques and thought patterns of successful innovators.

With an expert leading competing teams through the process, design thinking techniques are introduced and explored as needed. Questions are addressed in the moment and points are allocated to focus attention on key, counter-intuitive innovation concepts and behaviours.

By using ExperienceInnovation™ prior to an innovation initiative, participants and teams surface their existing reflexes, mindsets, and behaviours around innovation, collaboration, and problem solving. This quickly reveals where more work is needed. It is also a fun, engaging way to break the ice and set the tone for the rest of the innovation initiative.

As a capstone learning & development experience, ExperienceInnovation™ helps people practice what they have learned in a risk-free environment, solidify learning transfer, identify where more work is needed, and the experience serves as a natural pivot to application commitments and action-learning projects.
